Field Report No. 20150830RC
Topic: New Spokane IPA
COMMENTS: I belly up to the bar at Black Label Brewing in Saranac Commons, and ask Steve what’s new. He’s friendly as always, and we shoot the breeze a bit; they’ve been filming a new Macklemore and Ryan Lewis music video on the street out front. Talk turns to beer: the hoppiest beer Black Label has released to date. I’m immediately interested. He can tell, and their Main Avenue IPA soon finds its way into a small glass in front of me. A few swigs later, it has become my favorite beer I’ve tasted from BLBC’s gleaming 4-barrel system.
KEY FEATURES: Cascade and Summit hops shake hands in your mouth, and the three of you enjoy a jovial relationship.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Ask for BLBC ales and lagers when you go for a meal at Santé Restaurant and Charcuterie. West a few blocks in the Liberty Building, this high-end-yet-welcoming spot always has a light beer, a dark beer, and an IPA on tap from the fellas at BLBC.
