Field Report No. 20140721AH
COMMENTS: As the Carlton Complex fire burned on to the North, I ventured to Lake Chelan to catch a glimpse. The waters were calm and waves lapped gently against the shore. The haze from the fires was visible, but didn't interfere much with serenity - or breathability. Into town now to scout out its potential.
KEY FEATURES: Lake Chelan is over 50 miles long, winding from the busy towns of Chelan and Manson up toward the towering fjords of the Lucerne Basin. Lake Chelan is the largest natural lake in Washington State and the third deepest lake in the United States.
