Spokane Civic Theatre

Community Theatre • All-Volunteer • National Award-Winning •  1020 N Howard St, Spokane, WA 99201  •  (509) 325-2507

We've been waiting for a while. It's the Civic's production of Catch Me If You Can—a movie that packs a ridiculous amount of well-acted entertainment into a couple hours. The hit musical version, performed by my fellow Spokanites, does likewise: a perfect date-night indulgence. But there's something happening here that goes far beyond the stage. Something about the joy of belonging to a community. As we enter, the volunteer ticket taker—an elegant older woman—asks how our night is going. After our answer, we return the question. With a gleaming smile and a sweeping gesture toward the bustling crowd, she says, "Well, I'm wonderful! I'm at the Civic!"

Theatre lives just north of the river. Since 1947 the Spokane Civic Theatre has been the home of national award winning shows with high artistic merit and professional production values—not bad for an all-volunteer community theatre. Whether it's a larger production on the main stage or an intimate show in the studio theatre, the Civic is a trustworthy choice. As one of the nation's oldest community theaters, generations have enjoyed and sustained this inland northwest institution. Locals and visitors look ahead to secure tickets for their favorites during the upcoming season.
